Why You Should Carry A Firearm

Reasons Why You Should Carry

Everyone has their own reasons, but ours are simple:

We feel that why you want to carry, concealed or open, is the most important thing to ask yourself before you start. While we all have the right to defend ourselves, that right does come with the responsibility to be safe, smart, and wise with our actions.

A CC (concealed carry) mindset requires a disciplined and controlled demeanor. Not only do we need the discipline to acquire and maintain our skills, but we also must understand that we need to be the calming influence. The goal of a concealed carrier should be to never need our weapons, but always be prepared to use them. This is for legal and moral reasons: if you are involved in a deadly force encounter, you will not only have to contend with the emotional effects but the legal ramifications as well.

Remember, the best way to “win” a gunfight is to avoid it altogether. So with all of this responsibility attached – why does anyone want to carry?

Personal Safety

Life can be dangerous, you never know when you’ll be the unlucky one that won the worst lottery ever and might become a victim or statistic. So what can you do? Well, like the Boy Scouts say: Be Prepared. At home, walking down the street, getting gas, or stopping for a late-night snack – it doesn’t matter where you are or what you’re doing, bad things can happen. If this ever happens to you, you won’t have time to call and then wait for the police. According to the National Sheriffs’ Association – a trade organization for law enforcement, the average police response time is 18 minutes.

Safety Of Our Family

Safety of Our Family

No one goes through life alone, we all have family and friends. We also spend most of our time with them too. Protecting our families is a prime concern for most of us, especially those of us that are married or have children. So how can you effectively protect them if you aren’t prepared?

Exercising Our Rights

We as Americans often take our rights for granted. Our right to free speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of religion, freedom to vote … the list goes on. While we may never lose our rights as Americans, but what good is a right if we don’t exercise it? Just like a muscle if you don’t exercise your rights they will fade away and be a shadow of what they once were.

Confidence, Not Arrogance Or Ignorance

Confidence, not Arrogance or Ignorance

This isn’t directly connected to carrying, but rather the training that you should (and you should get training) get before/after you start carrying.
Not only will your marksmanship improve, but you will also gain spatial awareness, learn how to avoid bad situations, and maintain a level of preparedness that most of the population lacks. This puts you at an advantage from the start and will hopefully help you never need to draw your weapon. If you do need to do so, you’ll be ready.
